Hmm. It's on the Imagine album I think. ;D I think he was releasing some anger. George was with him playing slide guitar. I think even George had a song for Paul. How Do You Sleep - On wikiPaul probably did the same, but vaguely. I think they were just trying to let off some heat.

well, george wrote "not guilty" in india back in 68'...he did do "sue me sue you blues" in 1973 for paul. ringo did "back off boogaloo" for paul in 1972. john did "how do you sleep "for paul in 1971...but paul did do..."3 legs" for the other three fabs in 1971. paul also did " too many people" for john and yoko in 1971. george did " deep blue" on the b- side to bangladesh for the whole sadness. george did also do " wah- wah" in 1970. john did " god" in 1970, as a retort to the press for the way they treated yoko. all they needed was love

I agree. The press was a little too hard on Yoko, and they shouldn't have been. They should've given peace a chance with those two. ;D

Yeah, Yoko wasn't bad or anything....It's just she fell in love with a Beatle....is that such a crime???

John wrote "How Do You Sleep" in response to Paul songs on Ram. Paul started this fight. Here are the instances John (and Yoko) took offense to:
TOO MANY PEOPLE Too Many People preaching practices....you took you lucky break and broke it in two"
DEAR BOY "Guess you never knew dear boy how much you missed/ And even when you fall in love dear boy it won't be half as good as this"
UNCLE ALBERT John understood Uncle Albert to be addressed to himself..."We're so sorry if we caused you any pain...but we haven't done a bloody thing all day...we're so easily called away"
THREE LEGS Was understood to be a reference to Paul quitting the Beatles. "Your dog he got three legs, but he can't run".
The album cover also had the picture of two beetles screwing each other.
So John replied to these attacks with "How Do You Sleep" and included a postcard with the Imagine album of him wrestling with a pig - a parody of the Ram cover where Paul is handling a sheep.
When Paul found that John was fighting back, he wrote "Dear Friend" as an apology on "Wild Life".

The Back Seat Of My Car was another song from Ram that John thought was directed at him (with the line "we believe that we can't be wrong").
