Wow, great list! I have to agree on everything there. My parents think that Paul is a wrinkly old man when they saw him on Larry King. So I asked my mom, what about Paul in the 60's, was he so bad looking then. My mom said he looked like a girl and that his nose was too small, so then holding my anger in I asked, 'what about John, was he better looking' so my mom says he's very talented and has a great personality, but he is really weird and funny looking. So then I ask about Ringo, my mom thinks that NOW Ringo looks amazing but in the 60's he was really ugly. So then it's George's turn to be 'evalulated' by my mom. My mom says that George is the only good-looking one, but he still isn't THAT good-looking. So after all this I have to argue and argue and argue whether or not they are good looking. And then my mom has to see my 'kiss your favorite Beatle' thing on my wall and she's like 'ew, Kirsten that is disgusting, why don't you like anybody nowdays. They're all dead and old and blech.' So I have to push my mom out of my room, while 'go away mom, go away, out of my room, out, you are making me very angry now'

Why can't people see how good looking these people are. It drives me insane.

weird. i hate it when parents.. well, particularly when MY mom criticizes WHOM I like, as well!!!

yeah, my mom says the same thing about paul lookin' like a girl. and something like i shouldn't attend paul concerts or beatlefests cuz all there will be are old wrinkly men.

and a sad thing she said is that john's dead, and paul's still alive, so she switched her 'fave' beatle on to paul.

tsk tsk tskk. how could parents be so cruel nowadays knowing that the beatles were in THEIR generation.


(btw, since you have a 'kiss your fave beatle' poster, have you really actually ... kissed one of 'em? or maybe even all? Last time I saw one of those on a webpage, someone dared me to kiss them thru my comp screen)

Yeah, it's so annoying when people actually call them ugly, especially Paul. There's no way that Paul is ugly. Thankfully my parents are on my side, 'cause they've been fans since they were kids in the '60s. They totally love the Beatles, and don't say anything bad about them. I'm surprised that some parents of the people on this forum think the Beatles aren't very good-looking and stuff, since they were probably around at the time.

This hasn't actually happened to me, but I get the feeling that if I told someone at school the names of all four of them, for Paul they'd probably be like "McCartney?! Is he like Jesse McCartney's dad?!" It's sad that hardly anyone in my school knows who Paul McCartney and the Beatles are, nor do they understand their significance. They'd probably also say "Ummm...don't you mean JESSE McCartney?" A lot of people are so totally in love with him and his music. He sucks in both categories, unlike the Fab Four.

And, this actually happened last year in 9th grade, we had to take a test in History. And there was a question on it where you had to briefly describe the Beatles (I loved this question!) Instead of George, someone actually put.....Jeff! And someone else put.....Terry! Where in the world did THAT come from??

on Gilmore Girls the grandparents had an argument about which beatles were alive and they settled on Keith and John being dead and Bingo and and Paul were still alive.

Interesting, reading about the high school politics that exist today as they did 10 years ago.

All I can say is wait it out. I know people that I was in school with who didn't like The Beatles and often told me that they sucked. NOW in their later 20's. They have a new perspective on them. It caught up and they realized, "hey, this isn't bad..." The older you get, the more you experiment and the more you will find. Those who don't experiment become grumpy people who lose their hair and vote republican.
