To have an idea of how large the capacity of a 20 GB hard disk is, you can divide it by 650 MB (common size of a CD) to see how many CD's you need to store the same amount of information. If that's not impressive, divide it by 1.44 MB to see how many floppy disks you need to make a backup.
1024MB x 20 = 20480
20480 / 1.44 = 14223
