(Pulled away from the "Post your MySpace Profile" Thread).. I'm getting second thoughts on this myspace thing. It ruined my FRIENDSHIP with a friend who supposedly got addicted to it.. Grr. I also tried to ignore the fact that there's child predators who lurk that site. I don't know what to do. I should just delete. 1- MySpace is buggy (has bugs, rarely fixes) 2- Badly developed (web developers said so!) 3- etc. I really think people on it have had a bad experience with it 'cuz the "celebrities" on it are fakes! Even if they are "Official," it's just for publicity or commercial. One person can make multiple accounts and pretend to be somebody else. There's CODES to use to find out stuff from a PrivATE, yes-- Private profile! I found them out days ago. There's tracker codes to look up IP numbers and such personal information. I shoulda listened to these "older" people telling me to stay away from it. I should have. What's holding me back from deleting my profiles is 'cuz I really like the idea of 'networking'...and having my own -little- space. Actually, I could do that with having my own website..but, I rarely have the patience to do all the tedious work. Some layouts look really cool. Many Beatle People (fans) go on it. I actually had an idea that I should make a website, "MyBeatleSpace"..If anyone knows how to start one, go rrrright ahead. I would like to see one up. So..... To MySpace or NOT To MySpace?

Some Pro's and Con's to using MySpace Pros - Have a really cool sound to your profile that says "myspace.com/yourname" - Get to 'network' by having friends on your list - Getting to pick out nicely done layouts from myspace supporters Cons - Might get a fake friend - Lots of SPAM - Be tracked, get spyed on - STALKERS!!!!! - Download embedded malware etc., etc. the list goes on and on..

I actually kinda 'got' into it last night. Well, not in a addicted kind of way. I was just posting my link on Beatles forums for other Beatle fans to add me. (LLOLL, There was a big pause here 'cuz I had to check my Friends Request list, haha) I was kinda surprised last night at how many MySpace notifications I got. (See below..) Ah well. It's mostly the top or only networking site that people think of right away.

Yeah, MySpace is TOO open, so that's why a lotta people go on it. ALL DIFFERENT KINDS. And, yes.. I did FEEL much better, after days and weeks of my really bad mood swings. It's either still with me now and it's become normal, or it has passed. I'm not sure. I do feel happy nowadays. Thanks.

MySpace, I think is okay, just as long no one gets *tricked* into anything bad, and people should follow the rules, as not to ruin the fun for anyone. But, still it's still a really big open-network, that innocent people get turned into victims. It happens a lotta times.

Yeah you do have to be careful with myspace. My tip is when people send you a friend request or message, check their profiles to see if they are appropriate if not then I would deny them. I have denied quite a few people already on myspace because I did not like their profiles.

well, i have a myspace and I like it because when I moved, I had to leave my friends, but some of them had myspaces, so we can still communicate. It's better than calling them on the phone because of the long distance fees and stuff because I don't have my own phone

MySpace isn't all bad. But, to certain people it seems like it is. People always try to piont out the bad things about it. Most of my cousins, family, etc. Have a MySpace. They only accept people who they know anyways. If they don't know them, then, they deny them. It works fine for them. Even my 12 year old cousin has one. But, we're very careful about who she talks to. Us as a family have to know who is on her friendslist. Since, she's still young. She hates being treated like that, but, it helps us know that she's not talking to anyone she doesn't know. I even have one myself. Like everyone esle, I accept people I know. And, only people I know. Thats it. Sure, pedofiles may be on there, but, if you're smart, you'll know the difference.

alright, seriously. wtf? if you dont like myspace. then dont get an account, or just delete it, some of the "scene celebs" are actually nice. So dont be all "omg, it destroyed my friendship" uhh hello? Myspace cant be the reason because of it, you must of had other problems with your relationship. you could say im a "celeb" but where not all fake.
